Sculpture by Herbert Nouwens
Since 1982, the Dutch Herbert Nouwens (born 1954) has processed almost exclusively steel. His preference for steel is related to the large and constructive possibilities and plasticity of this material. Steel can be used to create extreme contrasts, apparent weightlessness and large volumes.
The style of Nouwens is not easy to describe: not constructivist, not minimalist and not pop art. He has developed his own language with his works.
From 2 September, art lovers will have the opportunity to see sculptures by Herbert Nouwens in the exhibition "IRON 2018" in the new building of Klooster Bredelar.
